Unlocked and loaded: ASUS releases Transformer Pad Infinity bootloader unlocking tool

Two months after the Transformer Pad 300 got its official bootloader unlocking tool, it’s now time for its big brother, the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, to receive its passport to freedom.
The Transformer Pad Infinity is the flagship of ASUS’ 2012 lineup of Android slates, and for many, the best Android-based tablet available on the market right now. But the device arrived (like all of ASUS’s products) with a locked bootloader, which makes tweaking and development for the device difficult. Fortunately, ASUS is one of the Android OEMs that gives savvy users the opportunity to make the most out of their devices, by supplying a bootloader unlocking tool for its tablets. In this respect, ASUS uses the same approach like HTC, Sony, and soon Motorola.
Today, we found that ASUS has released the bootloader unlocking tool for the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T. The tool is available as a simple APK, that you can download here, and all you need to do is install it like any app from outside of Google Play. The only condition is that your slate runs a non-modified version of Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Applying the 613KB file voids your warranty, and there is no way to return your Infinity back to its initial, locked state once you apply it. ASUS specifically reserves the right to refuse warranty claims, even if they are not related to the software, so, if you care about that any bit, think well before running the unlocker.
The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T has been available from July 16 in the United States. The slate will hit Australia on August 7 and the UK on August 31. For more details about unlocking the bootloader for the Infinity, head over to the XDA-Developers thread in the source. Happy unlocking!
